If you’re the primary provider for your household and are in charge of the bills that accompany this responsibility then here are a few tips for saving water and energy from being wasted.
A small drip from faucets can waste up to 20 gallons a day so make sure your faucets are tightly sealed. Refrain from using your toilet as a waste basket, becuase for every cigarette, facial tissue or small bit of trash is flushed, 5 to 7 gallons is wasted. Utilize your water meter to check for hidden water leaks. If your measure it before and after a 2 hour period when no water is being used and it does not read the same, then there is a leak. Purchase water saving shower heads and low flow faucet aerators. These can be very cheap and cost effective if you’re looking for a good alternative to conserve water. Use your dishwasher and do laundry only when full loads are necessary.
