Q-The water pressure throughout my house has gradually gone down over the last month. We think it might be a blockage in the incoming pipe or an issue with the pressure regulator but aren’t sure.

A- If the pressure is going down on all fixtures it could be that you have sediment in your pressure regulator device. Open up the regulator screen to check for a any sediment and reinstall your screen.

Q- My shower keeps leaking from the spout. What can it be?

A- Your shower cartridge might need to be replaced. After time they get calcium build up or sediment in the ports causing them to malfunction.

Q- The gas company came out and red tagged our meter. Do you guys fix gas leaks?

A- Yes, we do. As licensed plumbers we can fix and make gas repairs. We would begin with a gas leak test to find where the leak is located and then we will provide you different options to fix the issue.

Q- My kitchen sink got clogged, the water goes from the garbage disposal to the other side of the sink and vice versa. Can you guys help me?

A- Absolutely, we would start by checking your clean out to pin point the clog. Then we would use our cable machine to snake the line to clear the stoppage.

Q-I smell faul odor coming from my bathroom sink. What could it be?

A- Check the P-trap under the sink and clean it. Some times the P-traps get full of hair and scum causing the bad smell.

Q-My toilets are gurgling when we run our washer machine. Do you know what this is about?

A- It sounds like your main line is partially clogged. A camera inspection is recommended to find the issue in your line. You might have root intrusion, a broken line or a lot of build up accumulating over the years. We also can hydrojet your line to eliminate the build up problem.

Q-My water heater stopped working and it is brand new. It was very windy last night and this morning there was not hot water.

A-The wind might have blown out the pilot in your water heater. It needs to be relit. You also want to check your vent cap to make sure it is not old and corroded creating a back draft causing your pilot to go off.

Q – Why water keeps running (non-stop) when I flush the toilet. What should I do?

A – It sounds as if the toilet flush handle gets stuck, causing the tank stopper to stay open. This allows the water in the tank to continuously flow into the bowl. Make an adjustment by oiling, tightening. or replacing the flush handle.

Q – What causes our water heater to make loud rumbling noises?

A – The two most common causes for such noises are steam and sediment in the tank. You can often correct steam problems by merely lowering the thermostat setting. If you suspect a faulty thermostat, turn the setting all the way down: then if the heat source doesn’t go off, replace the thermostat. To get rid of problem-causing sediment in your water heater, open the drain valve at the bottom of the tank and drain off a little water until it runs clear. Draining the sediment should eliminate noise problems and allow your heater to operate more efficiently.

Q – I am re-doing my bathrooms. The renovation will include “gutting” the bathrooms and moving the plumbing lines a little (raise shower heads, perhaps moving the plumbing t one sink a little). Do you do this kind of work?

A – Yes , we do. Only experienced and trained technitians work at VMax Plumbign so we assure you the best job done at no-time.

Q – We want to add a second sink in the master bathroom. Can we extend the pipes that are already there?

A – Yes, you can. You’ll need to tap into the existing supply, drain, and vent pipes, run new piping to the desired location, and hook up the new fixture.
